Discipline and attendance compliance on part of student

Discipline is the key and watchword of Vivekanand Education Society to bring balance in every walk of life. All the students admitted in our institution will have to give an undertaking regarding general conduct & behavior.

The institution believes in developing informal education and inner strength, among the students. They should try to inculcate the same within themselves which would manifest in their external conduct.

 

Dress Code

Students are supposed to be in decent dresses and footwear in line with Indian value system and culture. Casual outfit go against the decency of the college. Indecent revealing, tight fitting short dresses, gaudy T-shirts will not be permitted. Boys should have a proper hair cut and girls with long hairs have to tie their hairs, especially in the laboratory for their own safety. On occasions such as Seminars, Conferences, Inspection days a formal dress code is expected.

 

Cleanliness of Premises & Theft

Strict action will be taken against the erring students and if not detected, a common fine will be levied to the entire class/ students who cause damage to college property or who do not take care (are negligent), scribble on walls & furniture etc. Help in the maintenance & cleanliness of the college premises will be deeply appreciated.

 

Picnic & Outings

Students will not be permitted to organize/ participate in private picnics/ outings/ on any day or occasion of the year. Strict action will be taken against defaulters.

 

Attendance Compliance on part of Student

•  In order to monitor the process of maintaining attendance records, attendance committee with the following composition is constituted.

Convener : Mrs. Harsha Kathpalia, Senior Lecturer.
Member : Mrs. Preeja Pillai, Class Teacher, T.Y.B. Pharm.
Member : Mrs. Vidhi Bhatia, Class Teacher, S.Y.B. Pharm.
Member : Mr. Mukesh Shahare, Class Teacher, F.Y.B. Pharm.

•  Normally 100 % attendance is expected. But it can be condoned up to a maximum of 25 % covering student’s sickness and other genuine causes. If the attendance is not 75% of actual study days and absence of 25 % is not supported with valid reasons, the Term will not be granted to them and they will not therefore be allowed to appear in the University Exam or Examinations conducted on behalf of the University (University of Mumbai ordinances No. 119). It should also be noted by the student that the certification of the Term is subject wise for each Term. Absence on medical ground for 3 days or more should be supported by medical certificate from the doctor.

•  If once the Term is not granted, the student will have to take re-admission for the same Term next year, by paying fees.

•  In order to monitor the attendance, percentage attendance will be assessed for each student in each subject at the end of each month and parents of the students having poor attendance will be informed and if necessary called upon to meet college authorities.

•  Students coming late to the college will not be allowed to attend the classes.

•  Bunking of classes is not permitted.

•  A very strict disciplinary action would be executed in case of mass bunking.

•  All the students are supposed to carry their Identity Card with them when they are in the college. This can be checked at any time, especially at the entrance. Friends of students will not be permitted in the premises. The students will not be permitted to loiter in the College on holidays, unless they have been specially called.

•  Students should not scribble anything on the walls, furniture etc. Strict action will be taken against the student indulging in such practices and if the student indulging in such practices is not identified the whole class will pay to compensate for the loss. Breakage of furniture will be treated in the same manner. All the students should strive for cleanliness of the premises and help in the maintenance and upkeep of the college which belongs to all of us.

•  Mobile phones with or without camera are strictly prohibited. Mobile phones should be switched off or kept in silent mode - so as to not to cause nuisance during classes, practicals, library & corridors etc. Its use is in the college premises are permitted only in the canteen, common rooms or toilets. A fine of Rs. 100/- will be charged for using mobile phones in restricted areas.
